Assignment #2

Strange Sounds at “Malam Jum’at”

The day was Thursday night. Just as I was home alone, when my parents went out of town, and my sister was at school camp. Because I am a Javanese, I used to call that night as "Malam Jum’at", and it sounded a little spooky to me, cold and silent. Yep, I'm a little scared. Therefore, I tried to distract myself by seeing my favorite movie, Sherlock Holmes, in my room. For a moment I felt comfortable and not scared anymore. The story in the movie really made me focus and not imagine strange things about my home alone.
Movie has been running for half, suddenly there was a strange sound. The sound I heard was not uncommon. It was not too loud, but was able thrilling through my body. It was much like the sound of "kerupuk" I usually eat. Oh, it was the sound of my stomach that was hungry. Hahaha. Because I was hungry, I decided to make something to eat. Then I raised my body walked out of the room while hold my stomach and went to the kitchen. The kitchen is located not far from my room,  only about 7 steps from the rooms. I walked as quickly as possible. Then I opened the fridge to take away foodstuffs. After that, I turned on the stove. Waiting for water to boil, I cut and washed vegetables. Then, put it into the water because it has boiled completely and put spices into it in order tasted salty and spicy.
As I waited cooked food while enjoying a glass of cola that I took out of the fridge, suddenly I heard a strange sound again. That time, the sound was really weird and I did not usually hear. If the sound of my stomach was making me thrilling, now that strange sound made my skin goosebumps. I was really scared. Sweat poured from my head and soaked my forehead suddenly. I was curious, and I decided to find out where the sound came from. I walked slowly out of the kitchen, and knowing that the sound was coming from the living room. I continued my pace up to the living room with a feeling very anxious. After arriving in the living room, I looked around, and I did not find anything. I just heard a strange sound and voice the clink of clock. My body was becoming weak because the sound was becoming louder. Sweat poured more profusely on my body, that time my hands got wet. Feelings of scared mixed with curiosity made me keep moving toward the door. I was getting slow the pace, and hope find that voice soon. I slowly reached for the door handle, and then pulled the keys to open the door. I opened the door slowly, and my body getting goose bumps. Slowly, the door was opened and I can see completely clear my front yard. Wow, there was a crying baby who was lying in a small box on m doorstep. I was really surprised and shocked. I could only swallow, felt my blood stopped flowing. But looking at the baby's face, I felt melted so I picked it up and rubbed its skin to stop crying. I really did not know who left that baby on my doorstep.
But, the problem has not been solved, the burning smell wafted from the kitchen up to outside the house. Oh no, my cooking charred!
